Custom POS systems, built for how you sell.
Custom POS software built around how your counter works, or an integration that links the POS you have to your accounting. One fixed quote, from one Cape Town team.
A fixed quote after a free discovery call. You own the code on final payment.Buy, connect or build
If a standard system would do the job, we'll say so.
- Card machine with POS
- One counter, a simple catalogue and fast payouts. Many South African card machines now include POS software.
- Cloud POS
- Standard retail or hospitality on your own tablet, priced monthly per till or location.
- POS plus a connector
- Your POS works, but someone retypes sales into accounting. Yoco's Pro Plan, for one, connects to Xero, QuickBooks Online and Sage.
- Integration build
- Your POS and your other systems have an API or an export, but no connector joins them. We build the link.
- Custom POS
- The way you sell is the difference: consignment, quoting before selling, service plus product, or pricing rules no package can hold.
POS systems and integrations we build
Each build is scoped to your counter, your stock and the systems your sales must reach.
A sale screen that fits
Products, variants, discounts and pricing rules, set up the way your counter works.
Card payments at the till
Card payments through your provider's card machine or payment API, where the provider allows it, matched to each sale.
Receipts and tax invoices
Printed or emailed receipts, and, if you are VAT-registered, full or abridged tax invoices with the fields the VAT Act requires.
Keeps selling offline
Sales carry on when the connection drops, with the payment types your provider allows offline, and sync once it is back.
Works with your devices
Runs on the tablets, receipt printers, barcode scanners and cash drawers agreed in the scope.
Stock that matches the shelf
Stock counted per item and branch as it sells, and kept the same in your online shop where it has an API.
Sales into your accounting
Daily sales sent to QuickBooks Online, Xero or Sage, where both systems have an API.
Every branch in one view
Sales from all your branches in one report, exported in a format your bookkeeper can use.
Customers at the counter
Sales linked to customer records, for accounts, loyalty or follow-up.
Agreed in the scope, before the quote
Every POS answers these differently. We agree each one with you in writing, so the fixed quote covers what you need.
- Which payment provider takes the card payments
- Which receipts and tax invoices it prints
- How long it must sell without a connection
- Which tablets, printers, scanners and drawers it uses
- Which systems each sale must reach
What to ask a POS developer
Put the same questions to every developer you shortlist, us included. Get the answers in writing before you pay anything.
| Ask | Why it matters | Our answer |
|---|---|---|
| AskIs the price fixed, and what does it cover? | Why it mattersAn hourly rate has no ceiling. A fixed quote for a written scope does. | Our answerOne fixed quote for the agreed scope, with no hourly billing. A change of scope is quoted in writing before work on it starts. |
| AskWho owns the code? | Why it mattersIt decides what you may do with the system later, for example if you sell your business. | Our answerOn final payment you own the source code and the design. Or choose the SaaS option: we keep the code and you pay a monthly retainer, quoted per project. |
| AskHow will I see progress? | Why it mattersA POS that looks right in a sales demo can still slow down a busy counter. | Our answerA demo every week, so you see the sale screen working with your own products. |
| AskHow long will it take? | Why it mattersIt sets the date your counter can switch over. | Our answerDiscovery takes 7–14 days, designing the system 3–5 days, and the build 4–12 weeks. |
| AskWho supports it after launch? | Why it mattersA till that stops on a Saturday costs sales. | Our answerWe support the system under an agreed service level, with monitoring and security patches. |
| AskWho will build it? | Why it mattersKnow who does the work, and which registered company signs your quote. | Our answerOne Cape Town team. We are Syniq (Pty) Ltd, registration 2025/545109/07. |

Custom POS questions
It is quoted after a free discovery call: one fixed price for the agreed scope, with no hourly billing. The scope decisions above set the price. A card machine with POS software costs far less. For market ranges on custom builds, read what custom software costs in South Africa.
Yes, where your POS has an API or a data export. Check your provider's own integrations first: a ready-made connector costs less than a build.
Yes, on Yoco's Pro Plan, R 499 a month for one location, through its partner Amaka. Your accounting subscription is billed separately. Some of these syncs send only daily totals, not each product sold. When that falls short, a custom link can read your Yoco orders and their line items through Yoco's API.
Yes, if you are VAT-registered. A sale over R 5,000 including VAT needs a full tax invoice with the buyer's name and address, and their VAT number if they are registered. Sales of R 5,000 or less may use an abridged one, and R 50 or less need none. We build both to section 20 of the VAT Act.
No. Your payment provider, such as your bank or a card machine company, processes them. A custom POS takes card payments through that provider's card machine or payment API, where the provider allows it. Yoco, for one, lets only selected partners take payments on its card machines, so we confirm your provider in discovery.
No. The Business OS does not connect to a till or count stock. It runs quotes, jobs, invoices and client records for service businesses, from R 47/mo billed annually (R 59/mo billed monthly). A custom POS is a separate build.
